Favorite San Diego Events:

Corinne- The Del Mar Concert Series is always a blast!  There’s nothing better than listening to great music (and the line up is fun every year) with a beer in your hand and watching the sunset over the Pacific. Seriously…someone pinch me!

Julie- The Del Mar Fair (now known as the San Diego County Fair). It has something for everyone – rides, attractions, and summer concerts!

JC- Fiesta del Sol this weekend.  Enjoy live music, food trucks, wine garden, craft beers and family activities at this 2 day FREE event. http://fiestadelsol.net

Cathy- San Diego has a variety of horseshows throughout the year and I try to attend as many as possible.

Maggie- I really like restaurant week. Going to the restaurants during this event is a great way to try new food items and enjoy the taste of the chefs’ creativity.

Kathleen- The Pacific Classic is the nicest Stakes Race at Del Mar and always a fun day!

Favorite Beach:

Julie- I love going to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. It has the coolest, smoothest rocks that wash ashore! I’ve never seen such a variety of colors – prettier than some shells even.

Corinne- Hands down my favorite beach is Stone Steps in Leucadia. It has a great local vibe and never feels overly crowded even in the middle of summer!

Maggie- My favorite beach is La Jolla Shores! Such a fun beach to go to with surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and much more. Going to eat at Shore Rider in a swimsuit and flip flops is a great advantage to visiting the La Jolla Shores as well. Shore Rider has great food, drinks, and a fun vibe.

JC- Come surf, swim, and paddleboard at Seaside Reef, Tabletops or Pali’s.  This beach has plenty of parking and if the tide is low, the tide pools are a great way to see the beautiful sea life San Diego has to offer.

Kathleen- Definitely Dog Beach in Del Mar – I have two golden retrievers who love the water. Also, Seaside in Cardiff has tidepools and I love looking at the sealife when the tide is low.

Cathy- Hard to pick just one but my dogs love when I take them to Del Mar Dog Beach.

Favorite Restaurants:

JC- Market in Del Mar.  Chef Carl lends you a truly unique dining and culinary experience.  Market offers a great selection of seasonal dishes consisting of fresh, locally grown, hand selected ingredients.  There are new menu items offered daily that take advantage of the best produce, seafood and meats available at any given time of the year.  I’ve never had a bad meal here and they have an amazing wine

Corinne– So many choices…right now I’m obsessed with TRUST in Hillcrest. The menu is designed with shareable small plates and there’s so many great options to choose from.  My all time, forever favorite however is Fish 101 in Leucadia.  Simple, fresh, clean eating at it’s finest.  You can’t beat their fresh catch which they probably caught that morning and the cool surfy vibe.

Cathy- Market Restaurant + Bar in Del Mar. Great experience, great food, and they are always offering new dishes so there’s always a reason to go back!

Maggie- Brooklyn Girl is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is always stellar! Plus, they are constantly changing the menu so it’s always a surprise. You never know what new dish you will be able to try.

Kathleen- Sushi Lounge in Cardiff. You have to try the Haji Roll!

Julie- Rimel’s – they are a family owned business and their food is ‘healthy, all natural and locally grown’ – They have 3 locations on the coast and one at Petco Park so be sure to stop in when you want fresh and delicious!

Favorite Tourist Attraction:

Cathy- The Wild Animal Park is a great spot to see beautiful animals and feel as though you are on a real African Safari.

Kathleen- Riding a bicycle around Mission Beach and Mission Bay. It takes me back to my college days.

Julie- We are just a few minutes from the beach, but I love to take a drive east to the mountains. The town of Julian offers beautiful hiking spots, interesting boutiques, and best of all, their famous Julian pies!

JC- Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.  This is a beautiful place to explore the coastline of La Jolla, hike the trails, lagoon and see the local wildlife.

Maggie- Whale watching is one of my favorite tourist attractions in San Diego! All you have to do is purchase tickets to cruise on the Hornblower and see grey whales during their migration from Mexico to the Arctic.

Corinne- My husband and I love to catch the ferry to Coronado with our bikes and cruise around the island.  There’s so much to see and lunch or dinner in the historic Hotel Del Coronado is always a treat!

Favorite Downtown Hotspot:

Maggie- I love Cafe Sevilla! They have great food, live Spanish music a few times a week, and if you feel like dancing Salsa, just go down stairs to their nightclub. Sometimes they have live Salsa bands and other nights just DJs, but either way the music is awesome and there is always someone to dance with!

Corinne– Currently I’m a big fan of Kettner Exchange.  It’s got the right balance of cool San Diego meets sexy Los Angeles.  The food is fantastic and the music will make you want to move!  Make sure you have a cocktail on the upper deck where they usually have a DJ.

Kathleen– Water Grill has great oysters, craft cocktails, and very fun setting!

Cathy- The Wild Animal Park is a great spot to see beautiful animals and feel as though you are on a real African Safari.

Julie- Even if the Padres aren’t winning, I love going to Petco Park. There’s something about cheering for your home team surrounded by the buildings of your favorite city that makes you feel like you are part of something amazing.

JC- Craft & Commerce – They have fried chicken, smoked ribs, jalapeño spoon bread, and killer burgers. Plus they have some of the best cocktails in town. Bring earplugs, it can be a bit loud.

Corinne– “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenge, wish for more wisdom.” – Jim Rohn

Cathy- “Happiness is a state of mind.”

Kathleen- “Making money is art… And working is art… And good business is the best art. ” – Andy Warhol
